Privacy Policy

The short version. Revera has no accounts and no sign-up. Your photograph is sent away once, to be restored, and comes back. It is not kept for training, it is not sold, and nobody at Revera looks at your family album.
What happens to a photograph you restore
When you tap Restore photo, the image is uploaded to fal.ai, the service that runs the restoring models, and the restored file is returned to your phone. The image bytes go directly from your phone to fal.ai's file storage — they do not pass through Revera's own server.
fal.ai holds the uploaded file and the result at temporary addresses so the app can fetch them, and processes them under its own privacy policy. Revera does not keep a copy on its server, and the photographs are not used to train anything.
If you never tap Restore, nothing leaves your phone.
The camera
Revera asks for the camera only so you can photograph a printed picture instead of hunting for a scan. The shot is straightened on your phone — the edges of the paper are found by iOS itself, with nothing sent anywhere — and it lands in Revera's own history. It is not saved to your phone's photo library, and nothing is uploaded until you tap Restore.
What Revera's own server records
Revera runs a small proxy so that the key to the restoring service lives on a server instead of inside the app. For each restoration it records a random identifier for your device, which model was used, the cost, and the time. That is all it stores, and it exists for one reason: to stop a leaked app token from spending the budget. Records older than about a month are deleted automatically.
The identifier is generated on your phone. It is not your Apple ID, your name, your email or your phone number, and it is not linked to any of them.
What stays on your phone
- Your photographs. Originals and results are stored inside the app's own folder. They are included in your iCloud backup if you have backups switched on. Deleting a work in History, or deleting the app, removes them.
- The device identifier and your remaining restorations are kept in the iOS keychain, so that reinstalling the app does not hand out a fresh set of free photographs.
- Your language choice and whether you have seen the introduction.
Analytics
Revera uses Google Firebase Analytics to see how the app is used: a photo was picked, a restoration started, finished or failed and why, the paywall was shown, a purchase was made or cancelled, the language was changed.
These events carry no photograph, no image content and nothing you typed. Firebase assigns its own device identifier and records the usual technical details — device model, operating system version, country. You can switch analytics off for all apps in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and by turning off personalised advertising in your Apple account.
Purchases
Payment is handled entirely by Apple. Revera never sees your card, and never receives your billing address. RevenueCat records which packs were bought against the random device identifier, so that a pack you paid for survives reinstalling the app or moving to a new phone.
Children
Revera is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
